“I've had 3 cars serviced with Alset and can't say enough good things about this group! Kyle and his staff go above and beyond with both workmanship and customer service. In my recent visit I dropped off my car Thursday afternoon and the staff worked late into the night and had my car ready on Saturday 2p. Great turnaround and customer service.”

Prevention, not repair

Paint protection film is a clear sacrificial layer that takes the abuse before the paint does. Rock chips, road rash, scuffs from loading groceries: the film absorbs it so the finish stays intact. Most clients come to us after seeing the first chip and wishing they had done this sooner.

We install XPEL ULTIMATE PLUS and XPEL STEALTH in full front, full body, and custom coverage. What makes sense depends on the car, the paint, and how long you plan to keep it.

What should you look for when choosing a PPF installer?

  • Timing

Ask how long the car will be there

A shop that quotes PPF as a same-day job is skipping prep. A real install means a full day of surface work — wash, clay bar, iron decontamination, two-step machine polish, chip repair, final buff — before any film touches paint. Whatever gets sealed under the film stays there permanently.

  • Repair

Ask how they handle existing rock chips

Ask whether they repair chips before install, and how. The answer should involve paint matching and clear coat — not touch-up pens or skipping the step. We fill chips with VIN-matched paint mixed by laser, seal with clear coat from our on-site paint booth, and re-polish flat before any film goes on.

  • Install

Ask whether patterns are pre-cut and ask to see close-up photos

Some shops trim film directly on the car with a blade. One slip scores the clear coat. We use XPEL's pre-cut patterns, cut to shape before the film ever touches paint. Confirm the method, then ask for close-ups of recent bumper edges, mirror caps, and hood leading edges. Quality shows there.

  • Warranty

Ask who backs the warranty — the shop or the manufacturer

XPEL backs ULTIMATE PLUS for 10 years against yellowing, cracking, peeling, and delamination. It is a manufacturer commitment you can verify on XPEL's website, not a verbal promise that disappears if the shop closes.

Transferable when you sell

“The paint looks good, I took care of it.”

With documented protection

“Full-body PPF installed 2024, XPEL warranty transfers to you, here’s the Carfax.”

Two identical cars on a lot. One has paperwork. That’s the one that sells first, and usually for more.

of the work you’re paying for happens before any film touches your car.

If you skip the prep, every water spot, every swirl mark, every unfilled rock chip gets sealed under your protection permanently. Ceramic can’t come off. PPF locks it in. Whatever’s underneath stays there for the life of the vehicle.

  1. Full wash

    Remove all surface contaminants.

  2. Clay bar treatment

Pull embedded contaminants — industrial fallout, tree sap, brake dust — out of the clear coat.

  3. Iron decontamination

Chemical iron remover dissolves ferrous particles bonded to the paint surface.

  4. Two-step machine polish

Cut deeper defects, then refine the finish. This also exposes rock chips hidden under swirl marks.

  5. Rock chip repair

VIN-matched paint mixed by laser, sealed with clear coat from our on-site paint booth, then re-polished flat.

  6. Final wipe & buff

Clean the surface completely for product adhesion. Nothing goes on until it’s right.

  7. PPF installation

XPEL film goes on first, directly onto the prepped paint. Precision-cut patterns, hand-finished edges.

Common questions

  • How much does paint protection film cost in Sarasota?

Full front paint protection starts at $2,399. Full body runs $5,899 to $7,999 depending on vehicle type, tier, and film choice. Use the pricing table above for your vehicle, or call us for a walk-through.

  • Is clear bra the same as PPF?

Yes. Clear bra is the older name. PPF is the term most people use now. Same product: a clear protective film applied over the paint.

  • Will PPF change how my car looks?

Clear gloss PPF is built to disappear into the paint. You may see edges up close if you look for them, but from normal distance it should look like the car, not like film. STEALTH is the exception — it changes gloss paint to a satin finish on purpose.

  • How long does PPF last?

XPEL ULTIMATE PLUS carries a 10-year manufacturer warranty. Lifespan depends on use and care. Good film holds up for years without turning into a maintenance problem.

  • Do you install paint protection film in Venice, FL?

Yes. Our Nokomis studio is the closest XPEL-authorized PPF installer to Venice.

  • Where is the closest PPF installer to me in Sarasota?

Our shop is in Nokomis on S Tamiami Trail — XPEL-authorized, serving Sarasota and Venice.

The science of protection

PPF is a clear film layer that sits between the road and your paint. When debris hits, the film absorbs the impact instead of your finish.

Film Thickness 8 mil (0.008 inches)
Warranty 10 years
Install Time 1-3 days
Self-healing Scratches fade with heat

What PPF Does Not Do

Not invisible: You may notice edges at certain angles, especially on dark paint in direct sun. Film is a physical layer with physical edges.

Not dent-proof: It absorbs surface impacts like rock chips, but shopping carts and door dings still dent the panel underneath.

Will not hide bad paint: Chips, scratches, and swirl marks that exist before install will still be visible. Everything underneath shows through.

Not scratch-proof: Light scuffs fade with sun heat. Deep key scratches or hard scrapes will cut through.
