Tesla PPF, Ceramic Coating & Window Tint in Sarasota

Tesla paint is soft. Tesla glass lets in heat. Both problems are fixable. We install XPEL film, ceramic coating, and ceramic tint for Tesla owners in Sarasota, Venice.

Why Tesla owners are our most common clients

Tesla paint chips faster than most owners expect. The clear coat is thinner than German or Japanese cars, and it shows road wear quickly — especially on dark colors. Highway driving in Sarasota means construction zones, gravel, and truck debris hitting soft paint that was not designed to take it.

The glass is the other problem. Model Y and Model 3 have massive glass roofs that let in serious heat. Factory glass has some UV filtering, but it does not reject infrared the way ceramic tint does. Most Tesla owners who tint say it is the single biggest comfort upgrade they have done to the car.

What Tesla owners should protect first

The front end chips fast

Tesla clear coat is thinner than most luxury cars. Dark colors — black, midnight silver, midnight cherry red — show chips within weeks of highway driving. Full front PPF is the baseline for most Tesla owners.

The glass roof is a heat problem

Factory glass on the Model Y and Model 3 looks tinted but does not reject heat well. Ceramic tint on the windshield and sides makes the cabin noticeably cooler without going dark enough to cause legal or visibility issues.

Ceramic coating cuts maintenance in half

Tesla paint picks up water spots, bug residue, and road film fast in Florida. Ceramic coating makes contamination release easier and keeps the finish looking clean between washes.

Stack services while the car is here

PPF, ceramic coating, and tint done together saves time and money. Add ceramic coating to any PPF job for $1,500 instead of $2,200 because the car is already prepped.

Common questions from Tesla owners

How much does Tesla PPF cost in Sarasota?

Full front PPF on a Model 3 or Model Y starts at $2,399. Model S and Model X start at $2,499. Full body starts at $5,899. Cybertruck full body starts at $5,999.

How much does Tesla ceramic tint cost?

Two front windows are $350. Windshield is $500. Full side and rear is $1,000. Same pricing for all Tesla models.

Should I get PPF or ceramic coating on my Tesla?

They solve different problems. PPF stops rock chips and road debris — important because Tesla paint is soft and chips easily. Ceramic coating makes the surface easier to wash and protects against UV and contamination. Most Tesla owners do both.

Does ceramic tint affect Tesla range?

It reduces cabin heat load so the AC works less, which can save some energy. The comfort improvement is immediate and real. The range impact is modest — do it for comfort, not mileage.

Everything Tesla owners should know

Why Tesla paint needs PPF more than most cars

Tesla paint is softer and thinner than what you get from Porsche, BMW, or Mercedes. The clear coat shows chips, wash marring, and surface scratches faster than most owners expect — especially on dark colors. Black, midnight silver, and midnight cherry red are the worst offenders. White hides it better but still chips the same.

Highway driving in Sarasota makes it worse. I-75 construction zones, River Road widening, and the general truck traffic along the Tamiami Trail mean your Tesla is catching debris constantly. The front bumper, hood, and fenders take the worst of it. Some models also throw debris down the rocker panels and lower rear doors.

Full front PPF is the starting point for most Tesla owners — it covers the bumper, hood, fenders, headlights, and mirrors. Full body makes sense for owners who plan to keep the car long-term or want the entire finish preserved. Either way, the film takes the damage so the paint does not.

Why the glass roof needs ceramic tint

The Model Y and Model 3 glass roofs look tinted from the outside, but the factory glass does not reject infrared heat the way aftermarket ceramic film does. The cabin heats up fast in a Florida summer, and the panoramic roof means there is a lot of glass surface above you that the AC has to fight against.

Ceramic tint blocks infrared energy without needing a dark shade. You can run a lighter film and still get meaningful heat reduction because the ceramic particles are doing the work — not the darkness. Most Tesla owners start with the windshield and side windows, then add the rear and roof glass.

At $500 for the windshield, it is the single most impactful comfort upgrade most Tesla owners do. The difference is obvious the first time you get in the car after it has been sitting in the sun.

Ceramic coating on Tesla paint

Tesla clear coat is soft, which means it picks up contamination, water spots, and environmental damage faster than harder paint systems. In Sarasota, that means love bugs from April through June, salt air year-round, and UV exposure that never lets up. Ceramic coating bonds to the paint and makes all of that easier to deal with — contaminants release faster, water sheets off, and the finish holds up better between washes.

Ceramic coating does not stop rock chips. If the front end catching debris is the concern, you need PPF. What coating does is make the surface behave better — easier to wash, more resistant to staining, and better protected against UV degradation. Most Tesla owners who do PPF on the front end add ceramic coating over the rest of the car and on top of the film.

Add ceramic coating to any PPF job for $1,500 instead of $2,200 standalone — the car is already prepped, so the work stacks without doubling the labor.

Cybertruck protection

The Cybertruck is a different situation. The stainless steel body does not need paint protection in the traditional sense — there is no paint to chip. But the surface does scratch, and many Cybertruck owners want PPF to preserve the finish and prevent the stainless from showing scuffs and fingerprints.

STEALTH matte PPF is popular on the Cybertruck because it complements the factory brushed steel look. Full body STEALTH starts at $6,499. Color PPF is also an option for owners who want a different finish entirely — full body color starts at $6,999.

Ceramic tint on the Cybertruck follows the same logic as any Tesla — the glass is large and lets in heat. Windshield and side tint make a real difference in cabin comfort.

What most Tesla owners at Alset actually do

The most common Tesla job we see is full front PPF plus ceramic tint on the windshield and sides. That combination covers the two biggest complaints — paint chipping and cabin heat — and comes in under the cost of a full body film job.

The next most common setup adds ceramic coating to the full exterior, which stacks on top of the PPF and makes the entire car easier to maintain. PPF handles impact. Coating handles contamination and UV. Tint handles heat. Together they address everything a Florida Tesla owner deals with.

If you are picking up a new Tesla and want to protect it before the first highway drive, reach out with your model and we will walk through what makes sense. If the car already has some wear, we can still protect it — we just need to see the paint condition first.

Tesla and XPEL

Tesla's official shop sells XPEL PPF and XPEL window tint packages directly. Tesla does not typically endorse aftermarket products, so the fact that XPEL appears in the official Tesla shop is meaningful. It signals that XPEL's film quality, pattern ecosystem, and warranty structure meet Tesla's standards.

We are an authorized XPEL installer. The film, the patterns, and the warranty are the same products Tesla's shop offers — installed by a certified team in our Sarasota studio. You can verify our authorization on the XPEL dealer locator.
